Corporate Social Responsibility |
The converging values of an evolving society and the inevitable interdependence of it’s institutions across national, cultural and geographic divides spell a future dictated by a global value system that seeks to protect, balance and advance the different interests of social institutions as represented by civil society groups, the public sector and the private sector.
A consequence of the move towards social partnerships is the expectation that the private sector will adopt a socially responsible approach in it’s dealings with it’s social partners and will ensure that, as the primary consumer of societal natural resources, it will do so in a responsible and sustainable manner to the benefit of present and future societies.
For Fraser Alexander’s purposes, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to both a belief and value system that acknowledges the company’s interdependence with it’s environment and social partners, as well as a business strategy that seeks to connect the company to it’s stakeholders, influence the environment in which it operates and contribute positively and sustainably to the communities from which it derives it’s prosperity.
Fraser Alexander commits itself to being a responsible corporate citizen and behaving in a morally responsible and accountable manner in the discharge of its business of creating wealth for its shareholders. In doing so, the company will not wittingly harm the interests of the other stakeholders in the social partnership and will make both indirect contributions to society in general, as well as select direct contributions to the upliftment of the communities in the vicinity of our operations, in particular.
