Khumo Seopela

Khumo has circa 10 years experience in the Mining Industry within various Human Resource related roles and has worked in a wide variety of capacities, including transformation, HR Consulting, HR Strategic Planning, BEE and related community empowerment, HR Turn around projects, communications, shared services applications, and roll outs of Information technology systems. She is the Senior Advisor to Royal Bafokeng Holdings, and a member of the executive team. Prior to joining RBH in February 2007, Khumo was the Vice President, Human Capital of Lonmin Plc, South African operations. Khumo was a member of the Executive as well as the Chief Executive Forum of Lonmin. Prior to that she was the Head of Transformation at De Beers Consolidated Mines and a member of that company’s Executive Committee. Khumo has also worked for Anglo American Platinum Corporation as the Group HR planning consultant and has occupied senior HR roles with Transnet (Spoornet & South African Airways) and Goldfields of South Africa.

Mluleki Majola CA(SA) is an investment manager at RBH responsible for dealing sourcing, execution, conducting deal negotiation and valuation analysis and due diligence process. He also interacts with company strategic partners and sits on a number of other boards such as DHL, Praxima Payroll Solutions and Pasco Risk Management.

Given is the Group Financial Manager of RBH responsible for all financial aspects of the group, reporting to the Group Financial Director. She is also responsible as a Treasury Manager to add value to the cash portfolio of RBN by achieving the highest return on the cash pool with the lowest possible market risk exposure as well as maintaining liquidity to ensure that cash is available to meet commitments as the fall due.

Pieter is responsible for evaluating RBH’s investments and executing transactions. His association with RBH goes back to his days at Deutsche Bank, where he advised the Bafokeng on a number of mainly platinum-related transactions. Pieter’s expertise is in the fields of corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He has also been previously employed at African Rainbow Minerals and at Gensec.

Jaap Nel joined FRASER ALEXANDER on 1 December 2002 as the Managing Director of BULK MECH. After obtaining his MSc, Jaap joined the BHP Billiton Group in 1994 as an engineer in training at the Manganese Metal Company. Prior to joining FRASER ALEXANDER he held the position of Business Unit Manager of the Krugersdorp operation where he had total bottom line responsibility.

Johan Moolman qualified as a chartered accountant and joined the ABSA Group in 1981. In 1988 he joined Finansbank (now NIB), spending nearly 6 years in their corporate finance division. In 1993 he joined Iscor Limited as head of finance in the Mining Division where he was also responsible for the corporate financing activities. He played an active role in Iscor Mining’s offshore developments and served on the boards of most of its foreign mining investments. In 1993 he joined RAD Investment Bank, initially in investment banking and privatisation but was later appointed as Chief Operating Officer. Johan was appointed a nonexecutive director of FRASER ALEXANDER in 2000 and joined the group as Group Financial Director in April 2001.

John Wates

John Wates joined FraserAlexander in 2007 after 30 years in consulting in tailings, waste management and environmental geotechnics. In this field John has lead projects involving disposal site design, sustainability assessments, environmental impact assessment, environmental and strategic risk assessment, closure planning, pumping and pipelines civil engineering design and construction management. He has been approved as a category III water dam engineer under South African law. John has held the position of CEO of the Wates Meiring and Barnard group of companies and in addition to his consulting role has been a director of a project management, an IT and a property development company.

Vusi Sibiya
Human Resource Diploma
Vusi started his career in teaching and went on to join Asea Electric Company, a Swedish company manufacturing power cables, transformers and telephone cables. In the 4 years he spent with the company he worked as a machine operator, wage clerk, data capturer and work study officer. For a brief period Vusi studied Biochemistry at Fort Hare University and after a year joined Gencor as a training officer based at Buffelsfontein Gold Mine. During this period, Vusi obtain a tertiary HR Professional qualification and went on to study marketing. Eight years later Vusi joined a subsidiary of Tiger Oats as training officer. He then joined Erwat, a waste water treatment company in the East Rand as HR Officer, was promoted to HR Manager and then Executive Manager: Resources. In this role, Vusi pioneered the corporatisation of parastatal entities and played a significant role in the establishment of a Human Resources Portfolio for the company and the consolidation of HR functions and activities of the 18 municipalities falling under the East Rand Regional Services Council and the Transvaal Provincial Council.
Vusi joined Fraser Alexander Tailings as HR Manager in 1998 and was subsequently appointed HR Director in 2001.

John Cayanis

John Cayanis qualified at Wits University in 1970, spent 2 years with consulting engineers, and then moved to a construction company for 4 years. In 1976 he and some colleagues started their own construction company. FRASER ALEXANDER acquired this company in 1979. During his time at FRASER ALEXANDER he has been instrumental in starting and building up its CONSTRUCTION business, of which today he is the Managing Director.

Pieter van Wyngaard

Pieter van Wyngaard joined FRASER ALEXANDER on 1 January 2003 as the Risk Director of BULK MECH. After obtaining his degree, joined the NCD Group in 1991 headingup the Quality control department. Prior to joining FRASER ALEXANDER he held the position of Risk Managerat the BHP Billiton Manganese Metal Company Krugersdorp operation where he had responsibility for managing enterprise risk.
The executive management team of FRASER ALEXANDER comprises the executive directors as listed above plus the Group Company Secretary, L. Gomes.
