Fraser Alexander donates school shoes to Ramakwapeng Primary School in ga-Seleka Village, Limpopo

On 4 March 2019, Fraser Alexander donated school shoes valued at over R30,000.00 to the learners of Ramakwapeng Primary School in ga-Seleka village, Limpopo.  The donation was made in partnership with the Mayor of Lephalale, Jack Moloko Maeka, in a quest to cement relations between Fraser Alexander and local government in the region.  The school is situated in a village 98km north of Lephalale, a town adjacent to Fraser Alexander's mining services operations in the area.  Fraser Alexander started operating in Lephalale in 1998 and has since established meaningful relationships with many stakeholders, including local communities and local government in the Province.

"Education is one of our main focuses regarding social development, today's learners are tomorrow's leaders and they will form the brainpower that will drive our industries as we advance into new frontiers." said Enock Ramoabi, Fraser Alexander Tailings SA General Manager.

The Mayor emphasised the importance of education as he addressed the young learners, he said: "Today's young learners should follow in the footsteps of the likes of Nelson Mandela and embrace the concept of investing in the culture of learning and acquiring knowledge.  Parents should assist in supporting the learners and work together with the schools in order to solve the common problems which hinder the education of our young ones.  The involvement of local business is also welcome to provide aid in any form where possible and needed."

The donation was wholeheartedly accepted by the school principal, Ms Leah Ledwaba, who gave a very profound speech as she encouraged the learners to continue working hard and proving themselves worthy of all the support they have received from the Mayor's office and Fraser Alexander.

The 122 learners of Ramakwapeng Primary School were left with smiles on their faces with a renewed sense of determination.  Fraser Alexander strives to live its values of Show Care and Leave a Future Behind wherever it operates, and hopes to see these young learners being part of the Fraser family one day.
