In subsequent years, services were extended to include coal handling needs, initially of Eskom, where Coal Mech came into being, Its customer base expanded, firstly in the coal mining sector, then to other mining sectors and other industries. Through Ash Mech and Coal Mech the Fraser Alexander Group, established itself as a fully-fl edged bulk materials handling specialist, offering uninterrupted services, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. This is still a core and unique attribute of which we are immensely proud.

As Coal Mech and Ash Mech evolved into Bulk Mech, and our reputation started growing, demand for our services, that specialise in managing the handling of hot and cold dry materials, as well as bulk materials, grew rapidly.

From our original base we have expanded to serve a wide range of industries such as:

We have a substantial fleet of mobile equipment for moving and managing materials on mines on an outsourced basis, in both their raw and benefi ciated form. In addition we design, build, operate and maintain fixed plant and conveyors in these service areas for our customers.
