As Fraser Alexander’s Tailings business grew, the company increasingly became involved in related construction work. By the early 1970s it became obvious that there was an opportunity to expand the Fraser Alexander service offering by establishing a dedicated Construction Operating Division focusing on waste, water and material containment sites and structures.
Over the years Fraser Alexander Construction’s reputation and track record has entrenched the Division as the premier service provider to our mining customers and has allowed us to move into other sectors with similar needs. This required us to expand our service offering to include:
-
Civil infrastructure development projects, especially where controlled earthworks and bulk earthmoving machinery are required
-
Construction of civil structures along which waste, water and materials move on mining and industrial sites
-
Pipeline construction, mostly related to tailings dams, but also many kilometres of large and small diameter pipes for a variety of applications, over many terrains, and above and below ground
-
Construction of numerous landfi ll sites across the country, ranging from domestic waste landfi lls to H:H hazardous waste sites, always in accordance with stringent quality requirements
-
Specialised environmental and pollution control civil works, covering dirty and clean water separation, diversion canals, river diversions, pollution control dams and other related projects for our mining, industrial and public sector customers.
From the very start our focus has been on operational excellence from the many perspectives our customers have – at the very least meeting their schedules, budgets, quality, health and safety, and environmental standards. To a large number of them we have become a preferred supplier and partner in our specialised fields.
